Yellowstone Day 3 - Cody

The weather forecast was a bit rainy, so we took a drive to see Cody, Wyoming. Both Bryan and Derek had Cody on their list of places to visit, so it was an easy call.  The drive was beautiful and the weather cooperated

Enchanted Highway and Teddy Roosevelt National Park

  After traveling for the afternoon,Jackie found us a place very near the Enchanted Highway. It was just someone's property where you can boondock for free or pay $25 and get electric for the night.  We just saddled up next to each other for the night. The Enchanted Highway was interesting.  I got some pretty cool pictures and it was worth going a little out-of-the-way for.  After enchanted highway we went to the Teddy Roosevelt National Park where we unbuckled the jeep and did a park tour   We saw an awful lot of wildlife including an injured mother horse.  She looked like she will heal just fine.  The buffalo were cool and the Prairie dogs were cute. It was still pretty smokey from the Canadian Forest fires Enjoy these pictures as well.

Chapter 3 - The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

.....IT IS WHAT IT IS..... When we last left our Superheros, they were broken down on the side of Route 70, west of Columbus, being rocked by every passing truck........ We got Cochella towed to a Freightliner dealer about 10 miles away and barely made it to the yard before they closed for the holiday.  Cochella couldn't be diagnosed until after the holiday, so we had a few days to chill our jets........ THE GOOD: Rick and Laura live the lake life, where neighbors are friends and friends are neighbors.  Everyone was welcoming and we were met with hugs and handshakes everywhere.    Riding on Rick and Laura's coattails, we were invited to a neighbor's pool party for the 4th.   We met awesome folks, ate awesome food and even got to try some Pappy Van Winkle 12 year Lot B.  Heck of a day, I says.    Shout out here to Chris and Loretta Adams for hosting a great 4th celebration party.....much love and thanks...... Such a fun time.  We are grat...

Chapter 2 - The Difference Between a Disaster and Adventure is Attitude

Rut-Roh Day 2 of the big trip didn't last long. We got off to an early start from Columbus on July 3.  Holiday traffic was getting heavy and we were underway.  We noticed on day one that the AC was not working.  We asked Liberty Equipment Repair to look at it and they said it was all fixed up (when they let me out of the yard).  They never said what they did, just that it was working.   Early morning investigation found that the fuse labeled "AC Compressor Clutch" was blown......Easy fix.....just hit a truck stop on the way and get a 7.5 amp.  We did just that, stopping at a Pilot and got about 5 miles down the road when the temp alarm sounded and we had to pull over in an awful hurry.  I knew immediately that the compressor clutch locked up and shredded the serpentine belt.  Our worst fears became our reality.  Heavy holiday traffic only added to the anxiety of sitting on the side of the road and waiting on a tow.
