Chapter 2 - The Difference Between a Disaster and Adventure is Attitude
Rut-Roh Day 2 of the big trip didn't last long. We got off to an early start from Columbus on July 3. Holiday traffic was getting heavy and we were underway. We noticed on day one that the AC was not working. We asked Liberty Equipment Repair to look at it and they said it was all fixed up (when they let me out of the yard). They never said what they did, just that it was working. Early morning investigation found that the fuse labeled "AC Compressor Clutch" was blown......Easy fix.....just hit a truck stop on the way and get a 7.5 amp. We did just that, stopping at a Pilot and got about 5 miles down the road when the temp alarm sounded and we had to pull over in an awful hurry. I knew immediately that the compressor clutch locked up and shredded the serpentine belt. Our worst fears became our reality.
