On the Road Again

Gigi and Bryan picked up Coachella were finally on our way.  I took note that we passed the London, Ohio exit just before 11 PM.  We wanted to get some miles under our belt , catch a nap and get going again as early as possible.  Obviously, we were in a rush to catch up with our friends Derek and Jackie and we also wanted to get there Friday because we were all due to leave Rapid City on Saturday morning. With a scant three hours sleep, we made it from London, Ohio to Rapid City in 24 hours flat.  Derek worked with the campground and got us a pull through site.  We were only staying till the first of the morning and this saved us from having to unbuckle the jeep for the night (and waking folks up when backing into our site). Before leaving South Dakota, we drove a few miles, unbuckled, and did a tour of Deadwood, Spearfish Canyon and Sturgis in the Jeep. Oregon Coast and the Redwood Forest

  One is never too old to learn something.  This week, we learned that Oregon is more beautiful than we had expected.  Amazing landscape. We planned to go from Olympic National Forest to the California Redwoods and decided to take the coast for the entire journey.  We were on a bit of a time crunch and hope that we can come back and take more time to visit the many cute little seaside towns. Oh, and a big middle finger to California for pulling our RV aside and crawling under it for 10 minutes because we're from Virginia. Believe it or not, California has border patrol for invasive species, like the Gypsy Moth from Virginia. Rich with irony, isn't it? Brookings, OR Siusiaw, Oregon The Redwoods And More Coastline

Frank Lloyd Wright's Westcott House

  Westcott House As the bad news continued with Cochella, we decided to take a ride over to Springfield Ohio and check out the Wescott House built by Frank Lloyd Wright. We’ve always been big fans of Frank Lloyd Wright, yet we’ve never actually toured one of his properties. The architecture was amazing and the tour was very good.   Enjoy Side of the House, which looks like it should be the front.....
